s a young man, J. Christopher Evans read many of the Great Books. He tried different philosophies, psychologies, religions and self-help programs in a fruitless quest to find a better life. Through them, he tried and failed to overcome the destructive patterns in his life. One day, out of sheer desperation, even though he had been an agnostic, he cried out to God for help. Over time, God convicted him of his need and enabled him to really hear the Good News of God’s love and grace. When he came to receive Jesus Christ and the benefits of the gospel —forgiveness and new life, he finally stopped searching. He began to see his life transformed radically for the better through Jesus Christ.

Evans is a creative who uses the arts to glorify his Savior and advance the gospel. He is a writer, painter and founder of a media ministry for the unreached. He uses visual arts to highlight unreached peoples. Serving as a “tentmaker,” a self-supporting witness, he uses writing to encourage recovering the truth that mission engagement is part of following Christ. He had the privilege of serving as the chairman of the strategy committee of a denominational mission board. A Presbyterian elder, he attended Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary where he was awarded the Olive Branch Prize for dedication to world  missions. He did additional work at Harvard University.
